Papa Alfie Fabe

Alfred Fabe

1943-2020

How do you describe a perfect man with weaknesses in one word? Love!

Alfie Fabe loved unconditionally. He demonstrated love through conversations, interactions and even through his disciplining of us. The reality of the scripture " Love covers a multitude of sins” was personified throughout his life. Papa Alfie or Papa Fabe, as he was affectionally known, received Christ at the age of 30 after many years of searching and trying to find fulfillment through other things.

He entered Bible College in 1975, two years after his conversion. He also planted his first church in the same year. Over the years, Alfie planted many churches in the Cape Town area including Faith Apostolic Centre in Eastridge Mitchell’s Plain. After receiving divine revelation from the Lord, Alfie knew he was purpose to move apostolically. As a result, he turned the church he was leading over to one of his spiritual sons and sought the Lord for greater revelation.

The key word he received from God was “relationship.” He set his heart to the mission of establishing mature relationships among local and international ministers. He then birthed Kingdom Ministries International (KMI), a relational ministry comprised of local churches and ministries.

He also launched the All Nations Conference to bring ministers from around the world to reveal God’s heart to the Body. All Nations Conferences have been and continue to be hosted in countries throughout the world. Conferences have been held in the United States of America, Rwanda, Nigeria, Uganda, Swaziland, Ghana, Philippines, and South Africa.

With the word “relationship” being continually revealed to him, Alfie stepped into spiritual fathering. He was truly a father to the nations with sons and daughters around the world. His passion was to see the church come into unity and function as originally designed, apostolically. He believed spiritual fathers are needed in the Church to raise up more revivalists to send to the nations.

Papa’s pioneering spirit, tenacious attitude, and his faithful approach in fulfilling the call on his life, has seen many borders crossed and relationships built resulting in a beautiful network of relationships across nations.  Those impacted by his ministry readily attest to the diligence and commitment of Papa’s (and Ma Lena), refusal to relent to the many difficulties encountered while building these relationship networks.  Papa did it all for the benefit of the Kingdom and the sons and daughters committed Kingdom building.

His spiritual children stand on the shoulders of this gentle giant of a man and visualize a borderless field of harvest.

Alfie was a devoted husband and father. He was married for more than 44 years to Helena (Lena). Together they had six children. When Papa went to be with Jesus, he also left behind fourteen grandchildren and 3 greatgrandchildren and countless spiritual children around the world.

Paul, the apostle, in Philippians 3:17 wrote " Brethren, join in following my example, and note those who so walk, as you have us for a pattern."

Papa has left us a life pattern to follow. They say no one is indispensable, but there are few men that are irreplaceable.

Papa is one of them.
